how do u fillet a mackerel if ur gonna use it for bait for fluke

*************************************************

Simply Fillet as you would normally and cut fillets into strips 2 to 3 inches long and 1 inch wide. We haven\'t used Mackerel for Flounder or Fluke bait before but thats how I fish for other species. I make sure there is a trailing edge that flutters in the current.

Thanks for your Comment and question.

That is one massive fish! Does having a big boat really make a difference? I personally have a pontoon boat and don’t think it’s possible to score something that big. Do you do charters?

Now That was funny! It wasnt really a dream, when you were holding up the salmon at the boat ramp for the reporter you sliped and hit your head. I took you home, thru you in bed and stuck your wifes finger in your eye and split with a monster salmon. Man is it good with my bagle and cream cheese this morning. It was only be fair because the last large one i caught broke my line under the boat. I noticed that you sharpened all the edges and seams on my side of the boat.

If the inside of the Salmon's mouth is black, then it's a Coho Salmon.

Coho salmon adults migrate from a marine environment into the fresh water streams and rivers of their birth and spawn only once, then die. That would suck, no?

Coho Salmon spend the first half of their life cycle rearing in streams and small freshwater tributaries. The remainder of the life cycle is spent foraging in estuarine and marine waters of the Pacific Ocean and Great Lakes before returning to their stream of origin to spawn and die.

Most returning Salmon are three years old. However, some precocious males return as two-year old spawners known as "Jacks". A returning adult can measure more than 2 feet in length and weigh an average of 8 pounds, so the picture above is sure to be a returning adult.

King Salmon on the other hand have white mouths and are much larger.

To be sure, look into the mouth of the Salmon and take note of the color.

More information – the salmon we caught were around 30 inches and just one Salmon made 10 nice sized steaks!

Salmon: http://www.saltwaterfishingflorida.com/imagesg/29salmon.jpg

Steaks: http://www.saltwaterfishingflorida.com/imagesg/steaks.jpg

We were in Lake Michigan and fishing at 6:15am In 130 Feet of water, downrigger set to 60-90 feet and Glow Spinner set back about 40 to 60 feet.

What a blast - you'll love it when you come down!

I have a good friend in Muskegon Mi who is a I.T. guy who has the same problem. I explained to him that Fishing will relieve his stress and possibly help out his situation. We also told him not spend too much time in front of his Computers.

Good luck and keep fishing.

I'm from the Tampa area and have heard that fishing and then swimming in the Tampa Bay can cause frontal hair loss.

I am wondering if you have seen this trend in the clearwater area?

I wish I had a fishing partner with a build like that to help me! Need a partner?

Regards and Good fishing - looks like you found a real GEM!

Regards,

Ronny and Sally Tee.
